District Administration South Andaman Reclaims 4,500 Square Meters of Government Land in Austinabad

The District Administration of South Andaman has successfully reclaimed 4,500 square meters (0.45 hectares) of government revenue land during an eviction drive conducted in Austinabad village. As part of its ongoing efforts to protect public resources, officials identified and dismantled six unauthorised encroachments, primarily in the form of fencing, restoring the land to its original status.

Reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding public resources and preventing their misuse, the District Administration emphasised that strict action will continue against such violations under established laws. Citizens have been encouraged to actively participate in this mission by reporting instances of unauthorised encroachment. Concerns or complaints can be shared with the District Control Room through phone numbers 03192-240127, 03192-238881, or 1070, as well as via WhatsApp at 9531888844. The administration has assured the public that the identities of informants will remain strictly confidential to ensure their safety and security.

District Administration appealed to the community to cooperate in protecting public resources, reminding everyone that safeguarding these assets is a shared responsibility. This initiative underscores the administration’s dedication to promoting fairness, upholding the law, and preserving public land for the benefit of all.
