District Administration South Andaman Reclaims Government Land at Calicut, Demolishes Illegal Structure

The District Administration, South Andaman has intensified its coordinated encroachment eviction drive as part of its ongoing efforts to protect and reclaim public assets. The initiative aims to restore government land to its rightful use and ensure strict enforcement of land laws to preserve public property.

In the latest phase of the drive, an unauthorised residential RCC structure under construction, along with fencing raised on Government revenue land at Calicut Village, was demolished by the authorities. Through this action, approximately 700 square metres of Government revenue land has been reclaimed and restored to the Government Khata by the Revenue field staff.

Reiterating its zero-tolerance policy towards encroachment on Government land, the District Administration has warned that any illegal occupation of public land will invite strict action. The Administration has appealed to citizens to refrain from encroaching upon Government land and to extend full cooperation in safeguarding public assets.

The District Administration has also encouraged members of the public to report any instances of encroachment or related complaints.
