The District Administration of South Andaman has intensified its ongoing efforts to safeguard government land and protect community spaces across the district. As part of its sustained anti-encroachment activities, regular inspections and monitoring are being carried out to detect and remove unauthorized constructions on public land.

On Thursday, an eviction drive was conducted at Kalapathar Beach, Swaraj Dweep. Revenue officials successfully cleared approximately 700 square meters of government revenue land that had been illegally encroached upon. Three unauthorized structures were identified and demolished during the operation, and the reclaimed land has been restored to the government khata for rightful use.

The Administration has reiterated that strict legal action will be taken against individuals or groups involved in illegal occupation or misuse of government property. Officials have appealed to the public to extend their cooperation by reporting such violations in their localities.

To ensure transparency and encourage community participation, multiple reporting channels have been made available. Citizens can share information on encroachments or illegal construction by contacting the District Control Room at 03192-240127, 238881, or the toll-free number 1070. Reports, along with photographs, may also be submitted via WhatsApp to 9531888844. The Administration has assured that the identity of informants will remain confidential and that all credible information will be acted upon promptly, a Press Release from the DC (SA) stated.
