District Election Officer Inspects Polling Stations in Rangat Tehsil

In a bid to ensure a smooth electoral process, Mr. Dilkhush Meena, IAS, District Election Officer/Deputy Commissioner of N & M Andaman, conducted a thorough inspection of various Polling Stations under Rangat Tehsil on April 1, 2024. Accompanied by the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO) of Rangat, Sector Officers, and other election officials, Mr. Meena emphasized the importance of fulfilling Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) at each polling station.

During the visit, Mr. Meena personally inspected Polling Stations across Nilambur, Sundergarh, Lorijig, Adajig, Uttara, Kadamtala, Shaktigarh, Bakultala, Rangat, Dasarathpur, Nimbutala, Amkunj, Padmanabhapuram, and Shivapuram. He directed the AERO of Rangat and Sector Officers to ensure that AMFs were provided at all polling stations to facilitate voters in every possible way.

Additionally, Mr. Meena instructed Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to extend maximum support to facilitate Persons with Disabilities (PwD) voters and those aged 85 and above to cast their votes on polling day.

In a comprehensive review of election security measures, the District Election Officer also visited the Strong Rooms situated at the Administrative Block in Rangat. Accompanied by the Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) and the Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Rangat, Mr. Meena ensured that all necessary precautions were in place to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process.

The visit underscored the commitment of election authorities to conduct free, fair, and accessible elections in the region. With meticulous planning and oversight, officials are working tirelessly to uphold the democratic principles of transparency and inclusivity in the electoral process.
