District-Level Tree Plantation Drive Held at JNRM Under “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” Campaign

In celebration of the International Year of Cooperatives, a district-level Tree Plantation Drive and Van Mahotsav was organized on July 2 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya (JNRM) campus in Sri Vijaya Puram. Themed “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” (Plant4Mother), the event was spearheaded by the Office of the Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies (Urban), Sri Vijaya Puram.

Mr. Ravinder Kumar, DRCS (HQ) and Director of Social Welfare, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event witnessed participation from the Principal of JNRM, senior faculty members, Assistant Registrars and Inspectors of Cooperative Societies (Urban), student volunteers, and representatives from various cooperative societies — all united by a shared commitment to environmental and social welfare.

In a symbolic tribute to mothers and environmental stewardship, 25 saplings were planted across the JNRM campus as part of the “Plant4Mother” initiative. The event also marked the observance of Van Mahotsav, reinforcing the message of collective responsibility for a greener and more sustainable future.

Mr. Bashir Ahmed, Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies (Urban), welcomed the gathering and highlighted the significance of the initiative in fostering environmental awareness and cooperative spirit.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Kandi Muthu, Assistant Professor, who extended heartfelt gratitude to all participants and stakeholders for their enthusiastic support in making the event a success.
