District Police, South Andaman organised a meeting with the candidates of different Political parties who are contesting Elections for Ward Councillors of different wards of Port Blair Municipal Council on 21-02-2022 at 1000 hrs in the conference hall of Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.
During the meeting, Mr. Ankit Chauhan, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman sensitised the candidates of different Political parties about the guidelines issued by the Election Commission and advised them to strictly follow the Model Code of Conduct.
Mr. Saurabh Chandra, DANIPS, SDPO (SA/Bambooflat) briefed the candidates about the do’s and don’ts of the Model Code of Conduct. They were also urged to maintain Communal Peace, Harmony and to refrain from any illegal activity to induce the voters.
General public has been requested to pass any credible information regarding the violation of Model Code of Conduct noticed in their locality to Police at 100, 112 & 03192-233077 and the identity of the informed will be kept secret. A press release issued by SP, South Andaman said.
