The District Legal Services Authority, A & N Islands organized a Legal Awareness Camp at Manpur, village Panchayat Hall, South Andaman recently on the topic Domestic Violence Act, 498A IPC, Family Disputes and Offences under different Acts against women, and POCSO Act.
The camp witnessed active participation of the local PRI members and villagers. Approximately, 50 people attended the camp. The Legal Awareness Camp was graced by Mr. Anupam Mukherjee, Ld. District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, DLSA, A & N Islands along with Mr. Debarghya Biswas, Ld. Chief Judicial Magistrate, South Andaman-cum-Secretary, DLSA, A & N Islands, Mr. Sumit Kumar Karmakar, Ld. Public Prosecutor and Ms. A S. Zinu, Ld. Public Prosecutor.
The Ld. District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, DLSA was the Chief Guest on the occasion. In his address, he shared his knowledge on D.V. Act, Free Legal Aid and benefits under section 12 of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987.
Mr. Debarghya Biswas, Ld. Chief Judicial Magistrate, South Andaman, Mr. Sumit Kumar Karmakar, Ld. Public Prosecutor and Ms. A S. Zinu, Ld. Public Prosecutor also spoke on the occasion. The programme ended with an interactive session.
