DLSA & IHRCCO Organises Cyber Safety Awareness Programme at Govt. Model SS School Sri Vijaya Puram

The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Andaman & Nicobar Islands, organised a Legal Awareness Programme on Cyber Safety on Tuesday at the Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sri Vijaya Puram, in collaboration with the International Human Rights and Crime Control Organisation (IHRCCO).

The programme was graced by Mr. Samrat Roy, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, DLSA, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and Mr. Jayanta Mukherjee, Judicial Magistrate First Class, 2nd Court, Port Blair, who interacted with students and emphasised the growing importance of cyber awareness in today’s digital age.

The event witnessed active participation from students and members of the teaching faculty. Mr. Dinesh Prasad, Principal (i/c) of the school, Mrs. Saraswati Narayan, National General Secretary and State President of IHRCCO, along with other team members of IHRCCO, and Ms. Preeja Menon, Advocate and Panel Lawyer of DLSA, A&N Islands, were present on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, the speakers highlighted key aspects of cyber safety, including responsible use of digital platforms, risks associated with cyber crimes, and the legal remedies available to victims under the law. Students were encouraged to remain vigilant while using the internet and social media and to seek legal assistance in case of cyber-related offences.

The programme concluded on a successful note and was described as highly informative and beneficial for both students and the teaching community, contributing to greater awareness and responsible digital behaviour among young users.
