The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Andaman and Nicobar Islands, conducted a Legal Awareness Camp at Divyang Home, Ferrargunj, on 15th November 2024,  as part of a nationwide initiative directed by the National Legal Services Authority to promote legal awareness among persons with disabilities.

The event was led by Ms. Arkabrati Neogi, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Port Blair-cum-Secretary, DLSA, and Mr. Anupam Sircar, Judicial Magistrate First Class-II, Port Blair. The dignitaries educated the attendees about the legal rights of individuals with physical and mental disabilities, emphasising the support mechanisms and free legal aid services offered by the DLSA.

Through detailed discussions, the camp aimed to empower persons with disabilities by enhancing their understanding of their entitlements under the law and facilitating their access to justice.

This initiative underscores the DLSA’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding the rights of vulnerable communities, reinforcing its mission to ensure inclusivity and equality in legal access for all.
