DLSA Organizes Legal Awareness Camp on Human Trafficking, Disaster Victims’ Rights, and Labour Laws in GP Mithakhari

The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Andaman & Nicobar Islands, conducted a Legal Awareness Camp on human trafficking, the rights of victims of natural disasters, and labour laws at the Conference Hall of the Gram Panchayat Office in Mithakhari, South Andaman, on January 29, 2025.  

The event was graced by Mr. Sudhir Kumar, District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, DLSA, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, along with Mr. Diptendra Nath Mitra, Judge, Family Court, Sri Vijaya Puram; Ms. Arkabrati Neogi, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, DLSA; and Mr. Anupam Sircar, Judicial Magistrate First Class-II, Sri Vijaya Puram.  

Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries highlighted the legal frameworks surrounding human trafficking, the rights and entitlements of disaster victims, and key labour laws that safeguard workers. They emphasized the importance of legal awareness in ensuring justice and protection for vulnerable sections of society.  

The session witnessed active participation from the local community, fostering a deeper understanding of legal rights and available remedies. The event began with a warm welcome by the Pradhan of Gram Panchayat, Mithakhari, who presented floral bouquets to the esteemed guests.  

The initiative aimed to empower the community with crucial legal knowledge, reinforcing DLSA’s commitment to justice and legal aid for all.
