Dollygunj has become a major residential and commercial area in South Andaman. Some major institutions such as Dr. B R Ambedkar Institute of Technology, RMRC (ICMR) etc is also located in the area. Every day thousands of commuters use the Dollygunj main road.
The road has developed dangerous potholes which pose a serious risk of accidents. The deep potholes also causes major damage to the vehicles of the commuters.
The road has also become uneven at many places which causes discomfort during the journey.
Commuters on two-wheelers face a lot of problems because of the potholes. After daylight, the potholes on the roads are seldom visible and two-wheeler commuters face a serious threat of losing balance due to the intense jerks caused by the potholes and uneven roads.
The road needs immediate repairs to prevent any untoward incident which may result in loss of life or serious injuries.
If left unrepaired, the road will become even more dangerous for the commuters as several new potholes will appear.
