Dr. Chandra Bhushan Kumar, IAS (AGMUT: 1995), has assumed the charge of Chief Secretary of the Andaman & Nicobar Administration. His appointment follows an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, dated November 21, 2024. Dr. Kumar officially took charge on the forenoon of November 25, 2024, at the Secretariat in Sri Vijaya Puram.
Upon assuming his new role, Dr. Kumar called on Admiral D K Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Hon’ble Lt. Governor of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Vice-Chairman of the Islands Development Agency, at Raj Niwas.
Dr. Kumar’s extensive experience includes his previous role as Additional Secretary and Mission Director of the Jal Jeevan Mission under the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti. He played a pivotal role in advancing Jal Jeevan Mission initiatives across the country.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has also recently appointed the former Chief Secretary of the Andaman & Nicobar Administration, Keshav Chandra, as the new Chairperson of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).
