The International Human Rights and Crime Control Organisation (IHRCCO) has bestowed the prestigious National Leadership Award 2025 upon Mrs. Saraswati Narayan, recognizing her exemplary leadership and contributions. Mrs. Narayan, who also serves as the National General Secretary and the State President of IHRCCO, has been a pivotal force in promoting harmony and safeguarding rights in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The IHRCCO, established in 2016, has been actively involved in resolving family disputes, protecting child and human rights, and addressing various social issues in the Islands. Under Mrs. Narayan’s leadership, the organisation’s 30-member team, comprising professionals from diverse fields, has significantly impacted the local community by offering consistent support to those in need.
To celebrate this honor and acknowledge other contributions, a felicitation event and press meet were held at Eastern Gate on 12th January 2025. During the event, IHRCCO also recognized the tireless efforts of Dr. Saji Varghese, a surgeon renowned for performing complex surgeries with minimal resources to assist underprivileged patients in the Islands. Dr. Varghese was lauded for his unwavering dedication to patient care.
Addressing the media, Mrs. Narayan highlighted the self-funded nature of IHRCCO, emphasizing its independence from external donations. The organisation relies on the personal contributions of its members, ensuring a commitment to meaningful service. Aspiring members undergo a six-month probation to assess their dedication, with membership contingent on satisfactory performance.
Mrs. Narayan also announced plans to expand the organisation’s reach by collaborating with the Andaman and Nicobar Administration, the A&N Police Department, and local media. The IHRCCO has pledged to provide 24×7 assistance to those in need, encouraging the public to reach out at 9679541335 for support.
The event also introduced the national award recipients among IHRCCO members, with speeches from Dr. Saji Varghese, who fondly recalled his long-standing association with Mrs. Narayan, and Mrs. Minoti Biswas, General Secretary of the State IHRCCO. Dr. Prem Kishan and other distinguished members also addressed the gathering. The event was coordinated by Mrs. Juhi Narayan.
Through its relentless efforts, the IHRCCO continues to be a beacon of hope for the underprivileged, fostering peace and justice across the Islands.
