Draft SIA Report for Greenfield  Airport in Great Nicobar Now Available for Public Review; Public Hearings Rescheduled to 28th June 2024

Delhi-based M/s Probe Social Development & Research Pvt. Ltd. has submitted the Draft Social Impact Assessment (SIA) Report for the proposed Green Field International Airport project in Great Nicobar. The report, submitted on May 23, 2024, covers a project area of 404.8194 hectares and is now open for public review.

The draft SIA report can be accessed at the Directorate of Social Welfare, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, the Office of the Assistant Commissioner in Campbell Bay, and the Office of the Pradhan, GP Laxmi Nagar, Great Nicobar. Public stakeholders are encouraged to review the document and provide their feedback.

Stakeholders are invited to submit their comments or objections in writing to the Social Welfare Department, Andaman & Nicobar Administration by 5 PM on June 26, 2024. Alternatively, comments can be emailed to directorsw4@gmail.com within the same deadline.

The Social Welfare Department has rescheduled the public hearing for the project due to administrative reasons. The new schedule for the public hearings is as follows:

– Gandhi Nagar Community Hall, Campbell Bay, Nicobar District: June 28, 2024, at 11 AM

– Shastri Nagar, Campbell Bay, Nicobar District: June 28, 2024, at 3 PM

All concerned stakeholders are urged to attend these public hearings to voice their opinions and concerns regarding the project.
