The Directorate of Information, Publicity & Tourism (IP&T), A&N Administration, has released a draft Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Fly Board/Water Jet Pack adventure sports in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Developed in coordination with the Rashtriya Life Saving Society (India), the SOP aims to establish clear safety and operational guidelines for these high-adrenaline water-based activities.
Fly Boarding/Water Jet Pack—popularly known as water flight sports—offer a unique experience by combining the thrill of flying with jet propulsion. In these activities, the rider is lifted into the air through powerful water streams pumped via a hose connected to a Jet Ski.
The draft SOP includes comprehensive safety protocols, supervision requirements, equipment specifications, manpower deployment, and briefing procedures to ensure a secure and regulated environment for both operators and tourists.
To ensure transparency and stakeholder participation, the draft SOP has been made available in the public domain. Tourism stakeholders, government departments, and the general public are invited to review the document and provide feedback.
The SOP can be accessed on the official website of the Directorate of IP&T (www.andamantourism.gov.in) and also on www.mygov.in. Feedback and suggestions must be submitted to the Directorate of IP&T by June 25, 2025. (Story Based on PR)
