Drugs Exceeding INR 50 Crores in Value Recovered by Police from Campbell Bay

In a resolute stand against the scourge of narcotics trafficking, the Campbell Bay police have achieved a significant breakthrough, exemplifying their commitment to zero tolerance against drug-related crimes.

Led by Sub-Inspector Roshan George, SHO Campbell Bay, the police force conducted a meticulously planned jungle search operation in the Babu Line & RPRS area. This operation, aimed at curbing illicit activities, saw the dedicated task force comprising Sub-Inspector Siva Kumar, Head Constable Meiyappan, and Police Constables Bikash Sen, Anup, and Shahir, in action.

Their efforts bore fruit when, during a search at the B-Quarry beach, a substantial amount of unclaimed narcotics was unearthed. Approximately 16 kilograms of suspected heroin was seized. The origin of the drugs is suspected to be from international waters as evidenced by a “MADE IN TAIWAN” marking on one of the seized items. The estimated value of this haul is believed to exceed INR 50 crores.

Supervised by Mr. Firoj Alam, DANIPS, SDPO, Campbell Bay, the operation underscored the relentless commitment of the A & N Police in maintaining peace and security in the region.

This significant seizure highlights the ongoing battle against narcotics trafficking in the Islands and underscores the police force’s unwavering dedication to ensuring the safety of the community.
