In view of the overwhelming response received from tourists and Islanders during earlier sailings, the Directorate of Shipping Services (DSS) has announced special round cruise voyages to Barren Island for the months of February and March 2026.

Barren Island, located in the Andaman Sea, is home to South Asia’s only active volcano and remains one of the most sought-after natural attractions in the region. The exclusive cruise offers passengers a rare opportunity to witness the volcanic island amid the pristine blue waters, along with panoramic views of the surrounding seascape. The voyage is expected to draw significant interest from nature lovers, adventure enthusiasts, photographers and tourists alike.

According to the schedule released by DSS, the cruises will be operated by the vessel Nalanda. The February sailing is scheduled for February 27, 2026 at 9 pm. In March, sailings have been scheduled for March 13 and March 27, 2026, both departing at 9 pm.

The Directorate has invited interested tourists and Islanders to avail themselves of the opportunity to explore one of the most remarkable natural landmarks of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Passengers have been advised to complete their ticket bookings well in advance to avoid last-minute inconvenience.

Tickets can be booked through the DSS e-ticketing portal, available 24×7 at https://dss.andamannicobar.gov.in/eticketing. A QR code linking directly to the portal has also been provided for user convenience.
