The Defence Wives Welfare Association (DWWA), Andaman & Nicobar Command, is set to host “Srijan Shakti” – an exhibition-cum-sale showcasing the creativity and entrepreneurial skills of Defence personnel’s wives – on Saturday, September 6.
The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Tagore Government College community hall. Visitors can explore a wide range of exhibits including elegant clothing, jewellery, fashion accessories, handicrafts, home décor items, and a spread of food delicacies prepared by Defence families.
Organisers said the exhibition is designed not just as a marketplace but as a celebration of self-reliance, community spirit, and creativity. It offers Defence wives an opportunity to share their skills with the wider island community while fostering enterprise and cultural exchange.
Open to all islanders, “Srijan Shakti” aims to be a vibrant family outing, blending shopping, food, and festivities with the creativity and craftsmanship of the women behind the armed forces.
Through such initiatives, the DWWA continues its mission of empowering Defence families, nurturing talent, and building stronger community bonds in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
