Mr. E S Rajesh, Pramukh, Panchayat Samiti, Campbell Bay registered himself as a Ni-kshay Mitra under Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and adopted all ten Tuberculosis patients in Great Nicobar.
On 21st September, Mr. E S Rajesh provided Ni-kshay Mitra Nutritional Kits to all ten Tuberculosis patients. Such Nutritional Kits will be provided by Mr. E S Rajesh to all TB Patients of Great Nicobar until the completion of their treatment.
The Ni-kshay Mitra Nutritional Kits contains Rice, Dal, Vegetable Oil, Eggs, Milk Powder, Milk and Ground Nut. The Distribution of the Ni-kshay Mitra Nutritional Kits was done in the presence of Dr. Nitin Shakya, Assistant Commissioner, Campbell Bay, Mr. Prahlad Singh, Pradhan, GP Laxmi Nagar and Mrs. Rameshwari, Pradhan, GP Campbell Bay. The doctors and staff of PHC Campbell Bay were also present during the distribution.
The government rolled out the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan on September 9 under which tuberculosis patients can be adopted and cared for by an individual, elected representatives or institutions.
Under Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan people and institutions coming forward to take care of the patients are being called “Ni-kshay Mitra”. They can adopt blocks, districts or even an individual patient and provide nutritional and treatment support to help them recover.
