Mr. E S Rajesh, District President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Nicobar District met Dr. Ashok Gupta, Director, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, A & N Administration recently and explained to him the problems being faced by the farmers of Great Nicobar Islands concerning the services of the department.
Mr. E S Rajesh apprised the director about the non-availability of an ambulance for providing doorstep services for the treatment of livestock to the farmers of Great Nicobar. He also apprised the director about the shortage of several medicines with the department at Campbell Bay.
A fruitful discussion was held between Mr. E S Rajesh and Dr. Ashok Gupta and Mr. Rajesh suggested that since the repair work of the ambulance of the department is expected to take some time, so to give doorstep services for the treatment of the livestock the department should hire a vehicle.
Dr. Gupta assured Mr. E S Rajesh that the department will explore his suggestions and very soon the problem of the farmers of Great Nicobar will be solved. He further assured that medicines will be dispatched for Campbell Bay soon.
Mr. E S Rajesh informed Nicobar Times that Dr. Ashok Gupta played an instrumental role in restoring the services of AH&VS in Great Nicobar post Tsunami and he is well versed with the situation on the ground at Campbell Bay.
Mr. Rajesh further added that he is sure that the Department of AH&VS will provide the best services to the people of Andaman and Nicobar Islands under the able leadership of its present Director Dr. Gupta.
