Mr. E S Rajesh, Panchayat Samiti Member from Laxmi Nagar Panchayat Constituency has been elected and sworn in as Pramukh of Panchayat Samiti, Campbell Bay in a simple function held at Community Hall Campbell Bay in the presence of Mr. Yash Chaudhary, Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District.
Mr. Sanjay Ekka, Panchayat Samiti Member from Govind Nagar Panchayat Constituency has been elected and sworn in as Up-Pramukh of Panchayat Samiti, Campbell Bay.
Earlier all three Panchayat Samiti Members of Panchayat Samiti Campbell Bay were administered oath by the Deputy Commissioner.
An election was conducted among the Panchayat Samiti Members for Pramukh and Up-Pramukh under the observation of the Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District.
Mr. E.S Rajesh and Mr. Sanjay Ekka both are members of Bharatiya Janata Party.
During his address, Mr. E S Rajesh assured all support to the Administration for the development of Great Nicobar Island. The Deputy Commissioner also assured to provide all assistance to the members of Panchayati Raj Institutions.
Mrs. Rupa Tirkey the lone Panchayat Samiti Member of Indian National Congress elected from Campbell Bay Panchayat Constituency also voted for Mr. E S Rajesh and Mr. Sanajay Ekka to be elected as Pramukh and Up-Pramukh respectively.
Assistant Commissioner (Campbell Bay), SDPO (Campbell Bay), Tehsildar (Campbell Bay Tehsil) & BDO (Campbell Bay) were also present during the oath-taking ceremony & Election of Pramukh and Up-Pramukh.
