Earthquake Mock Drill Conducted at DSS Main Administrative Building

The Directorate of Shipping Services (DSS) conducted an earthquake mock drill at its main Administrative Building premises on Wednesday, as part of its preparedness measures for disaster management.

The drill was carried out under the supervision of the Nodal Officer (Disaster Management), DSS, and witnessed active participation from employees of the DSS Administrative Building, Information Centre, and STARS Ticketing Counter, along with the Directorate’s Disaster Management Team.

During the exercise, a total of 129 personnel were safely evacuated to a designated shelter point, demonstrating prompt and orderly response. The mock scenario also included the rescue of a simulated injured individual, who was immediately provided first aid and evacuated by the response team.

The entire drill was executed in a well-coordinated manner, highlighting effective response protocols and teamwork. The exercise was conducted under the overall supervision of the Deputy Director (i/c), DSS.

Following the successful completion of the drill and declaration of normalcy, all personnel returned safely to their respective workstations.
