Education Department has extended the online application deadline for applying for the Short Term Contract Teachers posts to midnight of 6th April 2023.
In a press release issued, Education Department informed ‘Keeping in view the requests received from the Zonal Officers & other stakeholders and also to ensure more participation of candidates in the selection process, the Department of Education has extended the last date for submission of application form through online portal for engagement of teachers on short-term contract basis under Department of Education from 30.03.2023 to 06.04.2023 by midnight. This is the final and last date for extension of date for submission of online application form. Under no circumstances, the last date for submission of application form will be extended.’
Various NGOs and Political Parties had requested scrapping the online application process and introduction of offline applications so that more and more Islanders could be selected. LBA (Local Born Association) & AMSO (Andaman Moplah Service Organisation) had demanded that proper reservations should be given in contract appointments to OBC Candidates. CPI(M) had demanded scrapping the recruitment process of teachers on contract and calling for permanent recruitment.
