A meeting with representatives of recognized political parties was held on 03rd November 2025, under the chairmanship of the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO), Andaman & Nicobar Islands Parliamentary Constituency, in the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, South Andaman. The meeting aimed to brief the participants on the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Electoral Roll.

During the session, the ERO explained the objectives, procedures, and detailed schedule of the SIR, emphasizing transparency and inclusivity in the voter registration process. The SIR schedule includes preparation and training from October 28 to November 3, enumeration from November 4 to December 4, and rationalization of polling stations by December 4. The draft electoral roll will be prepared between December 5 and 8 and published on December 9, 2025. Claims and objections can be filed from December 9, 2025, to January 8, 2026, followed by hearings and disposal from December 9, 2025, to January 31, 2026. The final electoral roll is scheduled for publication on February 7, 2026, after obtaining approval from the Election Commission.

The ERO also outlined the role of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) during the SIR process. BLOs will collect Form 6 and Declaration Forms for inclusion of new electors, assist voters in filling the Enumeration Form (EF), and ensure that every eligible citizen is covered. Each BLO is required to make at least three visits to the house of every elector and facilitate online submission of forms, especially for urban voters and temporary migrants. They will also identify deceased voters, those who have permanently shifted, and those registered at more than one place to maintain the accuracy of the electoral rolls.

Electors have been urged to fill the Enumeration Form (EF) and hand it over to their respective BLOs. Alternatively, they can submit the form online through the Election Commission of India’s portal at https://voters.eci.gov.in. The ERO stressed that the guiding principle of the SIR is to ensure that no eligible citizen is left out and no ineligible person is included in the Electoral Roll.

The ERO sought the cooperation of all political parties and the general public for the smooth and successful conduct of the Special Intensive Revision exercise. Representatives of recognized political parties attended the meeting and assured their support for the electoral revision process.
