In a move towards enhancing accessibility and convenience in the electoral process, the Election Commission of India has announced the introduction of e-EPIC, a secure portable document format (PDF) version of the Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC). This innovative digital initiative allows voters to download their EPIC in a digital format, which can be stored on mobile devices, uploaded to DigiLocker, or self-printed and laminated. The e-EPIC option is being introduced alongside the traditional PVC EPIC cards currently issued.

Eligibility Criteria for e-EPIC:

All general voters possessing a valid EPIC number are eligible for e-EPIC. Additionally, new electors registered during the Special Summary Revision of 2023 & 2024, who provided their mobile numbers during the registration process, will receive an SMS notification informing them of their eligibility to download the e-EPIC.

Steps to Download e-EPIC:

Voters in Andaman & Nicobar Islands can easily download their e-EPIC through two primary methods:

1. Via Official Website: Visit https://voters.eci.gov.in/ and follow the provided instructions to download the e-EPIC.

2. Through Voter Helpline Mobile App: Utilize the Voter Helpline Mobile App to access and download the e-EPIC seamlessly.

Mr. B S Jaglan, IAS, Chief Electoral Officer of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, has urged citizens to take advantage of this digital initiative by downloading their e-EPICs through either the Voter Helpline App or the official website. Additionally, citizens can seek assistance by calling the toll-free number 1950 for any queries or support related to the e-EPIC download process.
