In a proactive move aimed at empowering young women in the North and Middle Andaman district, the District Police have unveiled “SWARAKSHA,” a self-defence training initiative. This 10-day program is meticulously designed to equip school and college girls with essential skills, ensuring their safety and enhancing their self-confidence.

The “SWARAKSHA” initiative kickstarted on the 18th of September, with the first phase covering three prominent educational institutions in the district. These include Senior Secondary School Rangat, Senior Secondary School Bakultala, and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Panchwati, Rangat.

The primary objective of the program is to provide self-defence techniques and knowledge to approximately 3000 female students in the district. In an era where personal safety is of paramount importance, “SWARAKSHA” takes a significant step toward fostering self-reliance and resilience among young women.

The North and Middle Andaman District Police firmly believe that empowering girls with self-defence skills is a crucial step in creating a safer and more secure community. By arming these young women with the tools and knowledge needed to protect themselves, “SWARAKSHA” hopes to instill a profound sense of confidence and independence that will serve them well throughout their lives.

The launch of this initiative has been met with enthusiasm and support from the local community, parents, and educational institutions. It reflects a shared commitment to the safety and empowerment of young women, not only within the district but also as a model for similar programs across the country.

“SWARAKSHA” is set to make a lasting impact on the lives of these students, providing them with not only physical skills but also the mental fortitude to navigate an ever-changing world with confidence. As the program progresses, it is expected to expand to cover more schools and colleges in the region, further enhancing the safety and self-assurance of young women throughout the North and Middle Andaman district.

This initiative stands as a testament to the dedication of the North and Middle Andaman District Police in their mission to create a secure and empowered community, where every young woman has the tools and knowledge to protect herself and shape her future with confidence.
