In a bid to safeguard public land from unauthorised occupation, the District Administration of North & Middle Andaman carried out a successful encroachment eviction drive on Monday at Pinakinagar village, under the jurisdiction of Mayabunder Tehsil. The operation, supervised by the Revenue Inspector and supported by police personnel, ensured smooth proceedings while maintaining law and order throughout the process.
During the drive, two unauthorised temporary structures erected on Government land, identified under Survey No. 256/1, were removed. This action has led to the restoration of approximately 5,000 square meters of Government land to its original state.
The eviction forms part of the District Administration’s broader efforts to curb fresh encroachments and ensure the protection of public resources. The Administration has reiterated its commitment to strict enforcement of legal provisions aimed at preventing unauthorised use of public land and ensuring transparency in all its actions.
Local residents were once again reminded to refrain from encroaching on Government land and urged to cooperate fully with authorities to maintain the integrity of public property. The District Administration has also encouraged the public to report any new or ongoing encroachment activities to facilitate swift action against such offences.
This drive underscores the Administration’s dedication to upholding the law and protecting valuable public land across North & Middle Andaman.
