As part of its ongoing drive to safeguard government land from unauthorised occupation, the Revenue Department of South Andaman conducted a focused eviction operation recently in the villages of Beodnabad and Tushnabad.

In Beodnabad, officials cleared fresh encroachments, which included temporary and tinned structures as well as unauthorised fencing erected on government revenue land. The operation led to the restoration of approximately 6000 square meters of public land to its original status.

Meanwhile, during a site inspection in Tushnabad, authorities discovered an illegally constructed parking shed adjacent to the village road. The structure was not only unauthorized but was also obstructing the movement of public buses. Prompt action was taken to remove the encroachment, resulting in the recovery of 50 square meters of land and ensuring smoother traffic flow in the area.

The Deputy Commissioner of South Andaman reiterated the Administration’s zero-tolerance policy towards land encroachments. He issued a stern warning to the public against occupying government land illegally and emphasized that strict action will be taken not only against the encroachers but also against those who support or facilitate such activities.

The Administration has urged citizens to report any instances of illegal encroachments. Complaints or information can be submitted to the District Control Room via 03192-240127, 238881, 1070, or WhatsApp at 9531888844. The identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.
