EX-PRI’s of Campbell Bay Alleges Discrimination with Casper James, Tehsildar of Tribal Origin

Port Blair, Nov 17 2020

The Ex-PRI’s of Campbell Bay have raised strong objections on Andaman and Nicobar Administration for systematically ignoring Shri. Casper James, Tehsildar, Campbell Bay and have decided to write a letter to the higher ups and the Ministries about it.

Most of the Ex-PRI’s allege that Shri. Casper James is being ignored by the Local Administration and he is not being given duties and charges which he deserves to get.

While speaking to Nicobar Times one of the Ex-PRI of Campbell Bay specifically mentioned the Order No. 2006 dated. 30th September 2020, signed by the Deputy Secretary, RD & Panchayat, through which the Hon’ble Lt. Governor had appointed special officers for Panchayats as an interim measure till regular elections are held. In the order all the three panchayats of Campbell Bay have been assigned to BDO, CD Block, Campbell Bay whereas in all other places the responsibilities have been distributed between the Tehsildar and the BDO, he said.

Further most of the Ex-PRI’s jointly echoed that they have come to know that the Assistant Commissioner is proceeding on leave soon and he is handing over his charges to the Block Development Officer, CD Block, Campbell Bay, instead of handing it over to the more senior Tehsildar.

The Ex-PRI’s have also mentioned that Shri. Casper James was in-charge as Assistant Commissioner of Nancowry for more than two years and he performed exceptionally there. The people of Nancowry Group speak highly of Shri. Casper James and have very high regards for him.

In Campbell Bay, the general public is quite happy with Casper James, Tehsildar who is very helpful by nature, treats everyone cordially and helps the old aged and the downtrodden with all official works sincerely, added another Ex-PRI member of Campbell Bay.

The Ex-PRI members allege that Shri. Casper James is not getting the charges and duties which his post entails, because he is a tribal and the Administration does not think he is worthy of getting high ranking posts and powers.
