The family of Late Leela Devi, a Home Guard (HG) with the Andaman and Nicobar Police, has received ₹40 lakh under the Police Salary Package, a welfare initiative introduced through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Andaman and Nicobar Police and the State Bank of India (SBI) on January 25, 2023.

This comprehensive package provides accidental insurance coverage of ₹40 lakh in case of the untimely demise of police personnel. The claim for Late Leela Devi, who tragically lost her life in a road accident, was processed smoothly, making it the first case to be settled under this package. Her legal heir, Mrs. Seema Devi, wife of Aman Kumar, a resident of South Point, received the insurance amount on March 21, 2025.

This milestone highlights the unwavering commitment of the Andaman and Nicobar Police towards the welfare of its personnel and their families. The collaboration between the Andaman and Nicobar Police and SBI has ensured a streamlined and efficient process for disbursing insurance claims, providing timely financial assistance to beneficiaries.

Andaman and Nicobar Police expressed gratitude to the State Bank of India for their continued support and dedication to this noble cause.
