Farmers from A&N Islands Receiving Advanced Training on Honey Processing and Value-Added Products at ICAR-CISH Malda

A group of 15 farmers, accompanied by two deputed officials, began a week-long advanced training on “Processing and Value-Added Products of Honey and Hive Products” at the ICAR-Central Institute for Subtropical Horticulture (CISH), Regional Research Station (RRS), Malda, West Bengal. The program, organized under the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH), commenced on 13th October 2025.

Experts from ICAR-CISH, RRS, Malda have designed the training to combine theoretical knowledge with practical demonstrations and exposure visits. The sessions aim to promote income diversification and sustainable livelihoods through honey-based enterprises.

The hands-on training focuses on modern techniques of honey extraction, purification, storage, and the development of high-value products derived from honey and other hive products, equipping participants with the skills needed to enhance production and profitability in apiculture.
