Farmers Trained in Maintenance of Agricultural Machinery at Chouldari

To boost technical awareness and enhance the operational efficiency of local farmers, the Department of Agriculture, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, organized a one-day training programme on the maintenance of farm machinery at the Seed Multiplication Farm in Bloomsdale, Chouldari.

Held on May 9, 2025, the training focused on the upkeep of power tillers, brush cutters, and water pumps—essential equipment for modern farming practices.

The programme was inaugurated by Ms. Tapasi Saha, Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Chouldari, who highlighted the importance of regular maintenance of agricultural machinery to ensure improved productivity and minimize equipment downtime.

Zilla Parishad Member Ms. Pramila Kumari and Panchayat Samiti Member Ms. Chaitali Roy also addressed the gathering, encouraging farmers to adopt best practices in machinery usage and care.

Earlier, Mr. R. Santosh Kumar, Chargeman at the Directorate of Agriculture, welcomed the participants.

The technical session featured presentations by Mr. Kumar and Mr. Depankar Choudhury, Assistant Chargeman, who elaborated on the role of farm machinery in enhancing agricultural output and provided hands-on guidance on repair and maintenance techniques.

The event concluded with an interactive session, where farmers shared feedback and clarified doubts related to machinery maintenance.
