Adequate quantity of fertilisers has reportedly been received at Campbell Bay after the intervention of Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh, State Vice President, BJP, A & N Islands and Mr. E S Rajesh, President, BJP, Nicobar District.
The farmers of Great Nicobar were facing a lot of problems due to the non-availability of fertilisers with the Agriculture Department at Campbell Bay. Many farmers had complained of bad production of their produce due to the non-availability of fertilisers.
The non-availability of fertilisers had become a serious problem for the farmers of Great Nicobar. Bharatiya Janata Party leaders, Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh and Mr. E S Rajesh had recently met the Director of Agriculture at his office in Port Blair and had apprised him of the situation of the farmers of Great Nicobar.
The leaders had requested the Director of Agriculture to immediately dispatch fertilisers to Campbell Bay for the benefit of the farmers of Great Nicobar Island. The Director had then assured the leaders that fertilisers will be dispatched to Campbell Bay in adequate quantity for the farmers by the next available cargo vessel.
The availability of fertilisers with the Agriculture Department at Campbell Bay will help the farmers immensely.
