Final SIR Electoral Roll Published: Total Electors in A&N Islands Drop by 52,364

The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Andaman and Nicobar Islands, has published the Final Electoral Roll following the completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), with the total number of electors in the Union Territory now standing at 2,58,040 as on February 21, 2026.

As per official data, the electoral roll comprised 3,10,404 electors as on October 27, 2025, the date marking the commencement of the SIR in the Islands. With the conclusion of the revision process, the net electorate has declined by 52,364 electors.

During the enumeration phase of the SIR, the draft electoral roll published on December 23, 2025 saw the deletion of 64,014 ineligible electors.

Thereafter, the statutory period for filing Claims and Objections was held from December 23, 2025 to January 22, 2026. During this period, 16,919 electors were added to the roll, while 5,269 additional ineligible names were removed.

The Final Electoral Roll–2026, published on February 21, 2026, incorporates all accepted claims and objections and reflects an updated and validated list of eligible voters. The final roll also includes 18 electors who have shifted from outside the Union Territory.

With the publication of the final roll, the electoral database of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands stands revised in accordance with statutory procedures.
