First-Ever Oncology Camp Held in A&N Islands During PBGKR’s 5th Super Specialty Health Initiative

In a landmark healthcare initiative, Port Blair Guru Ki Rasoi (PBGKR), in collaboration with MGM Healthcare, Chennai, and under the guidance of the Directorate of Health Services (DHS), Andaman & Nicobar Islands, organized the 5th Super Specialty Health Camp — featuring the Islands’ first-ever Oncology camp.

The event marks a significant step in expanding access to advanced medical care in the region, particularly in the field of cancer treatment and awareness. A distinguished team of specialists from MGM Healthcare provided free consultations, screenings, and guidance to local patients. The visiting doctors included Dr. N Syed Ismail, Clinical Lead – Medical Oncology; Dr. Sivaram Ganesamoni, Senior Consultant – Surgical Oncology; and Dr. Veda Padma Priya, Senior Consultant – Breast Oncology & Oncoplasty.

“Our mission is to bring high-quality, accessible healthcare to the people of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands,” said Mandeep Grewal, Founder and President of Guru Ki Rasoi. “The addition of oncology services this year is a major step forward in bridging the gap in cancer care for the region.”

The Directorate of Health Services played a pivotal role in facilitating the camp, providing crucial logistical support and ensuring the outreach met local healthcare needs effectively.
