Fisheries Dept. to Hold Training on Freshwater Fish Breeding & Seed Production

The Fisheries Training Centre, Marine Hill, under the Department of Fisheries, will organise a three-day training programme on Freshwater Fish Breeding and Seed Production in the last week of August 2025. The initiative is being conducted with financial assistance from the National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB), Hyderabad, under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY).

The programme will cover broodstock management (selection and maintenance of fish), hatchery management, seed rearing, water quality management, and fish health management. A total of 25 participants will be selected, and the department will provide post-training guidance to help them take up commercial ventures under the PMMSY scheme.

Applications in the prescribed format have been invited from interested fishers, fish farmers, self-help groups, entrepreneurs, tribals, and unemployed youth. Selected trainees will receive daily and travel allowances as per NFDB norms, along with lunch and refreshments during the programme.

Application forms are available at Zonal Fisheries Offices, Fisheries Sub-Stations, and the Fisheries Training Centre, Marine Hill. Completed applications must be submitted by August 18, 2025.
