A 64-year-old fisherman, Mr. T Tulsi Das, tragically lost his life early this morning when his boat capsized due to a sudden swell while returning to Kamorta Shore from a fishing trip.

Local sources reported that a sudden gust of wind caused large swells in the sea, overturning the boat. Mr. Das was accompanied by another fisherman, who managed to catch hold of a lifejacket and swim to safety. Upon reaching shore, the surviving fisherman rushed to the police station to report the incident and the disappearance of Mr. Das.

Despite immediate rescue efforts by the police and local fishermen, Mr. Das could not be found. His body was discovered washed ashore near Kamorta Jetty later today.

The Kamorta fishing community is in deep shock following this unfortunate incident. The last rites of Mr. Das was performed today in presence of family and community members.
