The Sports Authority of India (SAI), Sri Vijaya Puram (Port Blair), in collaboration with the Directorate of Information, Publicity & Tourism (IP&T) and the Directorate of Education & Youth Affairs, successfully organized the Fit India Wind, Waves & Wellness Event at Corbyn’s Cove Beach, Sri Vijaya Puram, and Children Park, Little Andaman, on Sunday.
The event in Little Andaman witnessed the presence of distinguished guests, including Dr. Chandra Bhushan Kumar, Chief Secretary of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration; Mr. Hargobind Singh Dhaliwal, Director General of Police; Ms. Jyoti Kumari, Secretary, IP&T; Ms. Purva Garg, Secretary, APWD; and Mr. Sandeep Behera, DCF (Wildlife). Meanwhile, the event at Corbyn’s Cove, Sri Vijaya Puram, was graced by Mr. Satyajit Sankrit, Deputy Director General of SAI.
The day began with the ‘Sundays on Cycle’ initiative at 6:30 AM, followed by a range of fitness and recreational activities, including a yoga demonstration, tug of war, coconut shot put, beach volleyball, and live painting. The event attracted participants from diverse backgrounds, fostering a sense of fitness, wellness, and community engagement.
With over 300 participants, the event embodied the core principles of the Fit India Movement, inspiring individuals to integrate physical activity into their daily routines.
SAI, Sri Vijaya Puram, extended its heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders, participants, and the A&N Administration for their unwavering support in ensuring the seamless execution of the event.
