Five-Day Peripatetic Training Programme on Pension, NPS and RTI Begins at TGCE Auditorium

A five-day Peripatetic Training Programme on “Pension and Other Retirement Benefits, NPS and RTI” commenced on February 23, 2026, at the auditorium of Tagore Government College of Education (TGCE).

The programme is being organised by the Administrative Reforms and Training Wing (AR&Trg.) of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration in collaboration with the Institute of Secretariat Training & Management (ISTM), Department of Personnel and Training, Government of India, New Delhi. The training will continue till February 27, 2026.

The initiative is aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of members of the Amalgamated Clerical Cadre of the A&N Administration, along with staff from the Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC). The sessions focus on key areas such as pension and retirement benefits, the National Pension System (NPS), and provisions of the Right to Information (RTI) Act, with an emphasis on strengthening administrative efficiency and service delivery.

Ms. Sarala Chakraborty, Assistant Secretary (AR&Trg./PGC), A&N Administration, presided over the inaugural session as the chief guest. In her address, she underscored the importance of continuous capacity building and the need for well-informed personnel to ensure effective and transparent administration.

The ISTM has deputed Mr. Bhagban Padhy, Deputy Director, ISTM, to conduct the specialised training sessions during the programme.

The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. B. Ganga Ratnam, Office Superintendent, AR&Trg. Wing, A&N Administration.
