In the run-up to the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2025, the AYUSH Wing of the Directorate of Health Services (DHS), UT Administration, organised a series of energetic Flash Mob performances across key city locations, infusing public spaces with the spirit of Yoga.

The Flash Mobs were conducted at Chatham Junction, Gandhi Statue (Aberdeen Bazaar), Goal Ghar near the Department of Social Welfare, and Bathubasti Junction. The performances drew the attention of passersby, residents, and local commuters, transforming everyday traffic intersections into vibrant centers of movement and mindfulness.

Led by a dedicated team of Yoga instructors and volunteers, the Flash Mobs featured synchronized Yoga postures seamlessly integrated with rhythmic movements. The initiative was part of a broader campaign to promote this year’s theme—‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’—underscoring Yoga’s role in enhancing personal well-being and fostering global harmony.

The lively demonstrations not only generated excitement for the upcoming IDY celebrations on 21st June but also inspired public participation and awareness. By bringing Yoga into the heart of the community, the events highlighted its relevance in daily life and reinforced the ideals of unity, health, and collective wellness.
