Floral Tributes and All-Religion Prayer Meet to Mark 21st Anniversary of Devastating Tsunami in A&N Islands

The Andaman & Nicobar Administration will observe the 21st anniversary of the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami on December 26, 2025, at the Tsunami Memorial located at the Andaman Water Sports Complex, Aberdeen.

According to information shared by the Administration, the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands will lead the commemoration by offering floral tributes at the memorial, followed by other dignitaries. An All-Religion Prayer Meeting (Sarva Dharma Prarthana Sabha) will also be held at the site to remember and pray for the victims of the disaster.

In a press release, the Additional District Magistrate of South Andaman has appealed to the general public, elected representatives, Heads of Departments and Offices, and officials of the A&N Administration to participate in the solemn programme. Attendees have been requested to assemble at the memorial by 7.30 am to pay homage to the departed souls.
