In a bid to accelerate the disposal of pending timber supply indents, a crucial meeting was held at the Mill Division in Chatham under the chairmanship of the Deputy Conservator of Forests, Mill Division. The meeting focused on assessing the backlog of indents and identifying measures to streamline the process.
The initiative aims to ensure a smooth supply of timber to islanders, government contractors, and various departments, thereby facilitating developmental projects across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
As per the decisions taken in the meeting, all pending indents under Categories II-B, III, and IV will be processed and cleared by February 28, 2025. Indenters who have applied under these categories are advised to contact the Forest Ranger (Yard) during working hours for the disposal of their indents before the deadline.
The department is also working on clearing pending indents in other categories, with further updates expected soon.
