Former Chief Secretary and Andaman Gang Rape Case Accused Jitendra Narain Admitted in MICU of G.B Pant Hospital

Mr. Jitendra Narain, Senior IAS Officer (now suspended) and Former Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Islands was admitted at the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) of G.B Pant Hospital at about 12:30 Am on 09 December 2022.

According to sources, Mr. Narain was admitted to the MICU of G.B Pant Hospital after he complained of chest pain. The exact condition of Mr. Jitendra Narain’s health is not known.

Mr. Narain was earlier arrested in November 2022, after his anticipatory bail application was rejected by the Sessions Court.

Mr. Jitendra Narain is one of the Accused in the Andaman Gang Rape Case also known as the Andaman Job for Sex Scandal.

Mr. Jitendra Narain has filed a bail application before the Hon’ble Calcutta High Court, Circuit Bench at Port Blair and during the hearing on 8th of December 2022, the Hon’ble Court in its order had mentioned “We are informed that the petitioner is suffering from ailments and is in jail hospital. Proper medical treatment whenever necessary be provided to the petitioner.” 

The next hearing for the bail application filed by Mr. Jitendra Narain is scheduled on 15th December 2022.
