In a heartfelt tribute to the late Mr. Rajiv Gandhi, former Prime Minister of India, a blood donation camp was organized on 20th August 2024, at Gandhi Bhavan, Port Blair. The event, spearheaded by Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, former Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, marked the 80th birth anniversary of the visionary leader.
The camp drew a large number of participants, with residents from all walks of life eager to contribute to the noble cause. The overwhelming response underscored the deep respect and admiration the community holds for Rajiv Gandhi, as well as the enduring legacy of his service to the nation.
Among the key figures present at the event were Mr. Rangalal Halder, President of the Pradesh Congress Committee, and Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma himself. Senior party leaders, elected representatives, members of frontal organisations on INC, and a significant number of local residents also attended, reflecting the spirit of unity and community service that Rajiv Gandhi championed throughout his life.
The blood donation camp not only served as a fitting tribute to Rajiv Gandhi but also highlighted the importance of giving back to society. The event emphasised the values of compassion and selflessness, encouraging others to engage in similar acts of service.
