Four Candidates File Nominations to Contest Lok Sabha Elections from ANIPC on 26th March 2024

As the Lok Sabha Elections of 2024 gather momentum, the filing of nominations by contesting candidates in the A&N Islands Parliamentary Constituency continues. On March 26, 2024, four additional candidates submitted their nomination papers, further intensifying the electoral landscape.

Dr. Arun Kumar Mallik, representing the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), submitted a single set of nomination papers. Mr. D. Ayyappan, from the Communist Party of India (Marxist) or CPI (M), filed four sets of nomination papers. Meanwhile, Mr. Manoj Paul of the Andaman Nicobar Democratic Congress submitted two sets of nomination papers. Lastly, Mr. KJB Selvaraj, representing the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), filed one set of nomination papers. All candidates formally handed over their documents to the Returning Officer, Mr. Arjun Sharma, at the Office of the Returning Officer located in the Deputy Commissioner’s office in South Andaman.

The recent submissions bring the total number of nominations filed since March 20, 2024, to five, indicating a growing interest among political parties and candidates in contesting the elections in the A&N Islands Parliamentary Constituency.

March 27, 2024, marks the deadline for filing nominations, signifying the final opportunity for candidates to officially enter the electoral fray. With the deadline looming, anticipation heightens as the constituency prepares for a vibrant and closely contested electoral battle.
