The ongoing Free Prosthetic & Orthotic Camp at the Composite Regional Centre (CRC), Andaman & Nicobar Islands, has entered its third day, witnessing growing participation and life-changing interventions for persons with disabilities across the Islands.

The five-day camp, which began on April 10 and will continue until April 14, is being organized in collaboration with the Rotary Club, Sri Vijaya Puram, Mahaveer Seva Sadan (Kolkata), and CRC, A&N Islands.

Aimed at providing free artificial limbs, orthotic devices, and comprehensive rehabilitation services, the camp has drawn individuals from distant parts of the Islands. The visiting team from Mahaveer Seva Sadan is ensuring prompt service delivery, acknowledging the logistical challenges faced by many beneficiaries. Same-day assessments, casting, and corrective fittings have been made possible due to their swift and responsive efforts.

On the second day of the camp, the services extended included postural correction, gait alignment, and customised prosthetic and orthotic fittings. Special attention was given to conditions such as foot drop, polio, muscular dystrophy, and cerebral palsy, with modifications tailored to individual needs.

Registrations for the camp will remain open until April 13, 2025. Interested individuals can reach out to CRC, Brookshabad, at 9632490149 for more information or to register.
