In a bid to encourage young girls to engage in intellectual sports and empower them through strategic thinking, the Directorate of Education, in collaboration with the Andaman Nicobar Chess Association (ANCA), is organizing the Smart Girls (Under-19) Chess Tournament – 2025 on July 12 and 13 at the auditorium of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Sri Vijaya Puram.

The tournament is being held under the national initiative “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao”, aimed at promoting the welfare and empowerment of girls across the country. The event is exclusively open to girls born on or after January 1, 2006.

To foster broad participation, the tournament will recognize talent across multiple age groups—Under-7, Under-9, Under-11, Under-13, Under-15, and Under-19—within a single competitive format. Prizes will be awarded in each category.

There is no entry fee for participation, but players must have valid registration with the All India Chess Federation (AICF) for the 2025–2026 session.

Interested participants and schools are required to register through the official Google Form link: https://forms.gle/7EDfdKcnite1hGUb6. The deadline for registration is July 10, 2025.

For further information, participants may contact the organizers at 9434293379.

This initiative not only offers a competitive platform for young female chess enthusiasts but also reinforces the message of empowering girls through education and extracurricular excellence.
