The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, has announced a brief reopening of the application portal for the National Overseas Scholarship (NOS) Scheme 2025-26, aimed at supporting students from disadvantaged communities in pursuing higher education abroad.
The scheme empowers students from Scheduled Castes, De-Notified Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes, Landless Agricultural Labourers, and Traditional Artisans to pursue Master’s and Ph.D. degrees at universities ranked within the top 500 in the QS World University Rankings.
While the initial application window ran from March 19 to April 27, 2025, the Ministry has now allowed a correction window from April 29 to May 2, 2025. During this period, candidates who have already submitted their applications will be able to make necessary corrections.
Applicants are advised to visit the official NOS portal at http://nosmsje.gov.in before May 2, 2025, to update their applications if needed.
