The Office of the Assistant Commissioner, Nancowry, successfully organized the third round of the ‘Prashasan Aapke Dwaar’ initiative at Katchal Island on February 12 and 13, bringing essential government services closer to the residents. The two-day outreach program aimed to facilitate access to welfare schemes and address public grievances on the spot.

The camp saw active participation from various departments, including Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Animal Husbandry, ICDS, Transport, Banking, and Health Services. Over 250 beneficiaries availed themselves of different services during the event.

Key highlights of the camp included the distribution of 50 seed kits to farmers and awareness sessions on agricultural schemes. Additionally, 29 Aadhaar card updates were processed, and three new Aadhaar cards were issued. Healthcare services were a major attraction, benefiting 86 patients with consultations in general surgery, ophthalmology, and obstetrics and gynecology.

The administration also facilitated enrollment in social welfare schemes such as PMJJBY, PMSBY, PM Vishwakarma, and DDU-GKY. Issuance of Kisan Credit Cards and registrations for poultry and duckling requirements were carried out. The transport department offered services like new learner’s license applications and driving license renewals.

Expressing gratitude, Mr. Aditya Sangotra, Assistant Commissioner, Nancowry, acknowledged the support from Dr. Anil Agarwal, Secretary (Health), A&N Administration, for providing specialist doctors, and Mr. Amit Kale, Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar, for his overall guidance and support.

The administration received positive feedback from residents, who requested the periodic organization of such camps to ensure sustained benefits. The dedicated efforts of the team ensured smooth logistical arrangements and effective service delivery, making the initiative a resounding success.
