Government Secondary School (GSS), Junglighat, recently organised the Chess Utsav Tournament 2026 at the school assembly ground, witnessing enthusiastic participation from students. The tournament was aimed at promoting logical thinking, concentration, and sportsmanship among young learners.
The event was graced by Mr. Vikram Singh, Director (Education), as the chief guest. Mr. Ravi Chandran, Councillor, Ward No. 9, and Mr. Mohammed Irshad, Assistant Director (Sports), attended the programme as special guests. The chief guest formally inaugurated the tournament by making the ceremonial first move, marking the commencement of the competition.
Students participated in the matches with great enthusiasm, discipline, and a spirit of fair play throughout the event. The tournament provided a healthy competitive platform for students to showcase their strategic skills and intellectual abilities.
